		SERVICES Sompting Parish Council currently does not own any parks, playing fields or recreational facilities. However, we do work closely with Adur District Council, who do own such facilities in our Parish. There is a Public Convenience on the Recreation Ground in West Street, which is owned and maintained by Adur District Council. However, this facility has been closed for several years due to its condition. The Parish Council are working with the District Council with a view to refurbishing and re-opening them. We currently own 8 Bus Shelters in the Parish at: Cokeham Road (Inglecroft Parade) Busticle Lane (all three shelters) Western Road (Grasmere Avenue) Western Road (Carnforth Road) Western Road (Ullswater Road) West Street (Recreation Ground) The shelters at Inglecroft Parade and Ullswater Road are scheduled for replacement before the end of the current financial year (March 2009). The shelter at West Street, being in poor state of repair, is scheduled for demolition. There are currently no plans to replace it. The remainder of the shelters in the Parish are owned and maintained by Adur District Council. The Council produces a quarterly newsletter - the "Sompting Signpost". This is delivered free to every home within the Parish.
