Situated between Worthing and Lancing, the village of Sompting rests on picturesque downland. The Parish Church of St Mary's is a familiar landmark to anyone driving along the A27 "Sompting by-pass", which divides the village into two sections.

This website went live on 15 July 2005, and is being continually developed. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you do not see the information you require, or have any suggestions for the site.

New Look Sompting Signpost
Your Parish Council Magazine, the Sompting Signpost, has undergone a complete revamp. The Spring edition is dropping through letterboxes the first week in March 2009, containing much more news about what the Parish Council is doing.

We are always pleased to promote community events in Sompting, so if you have any news which you feel is relevant, then please send it to the Parish Clerk. See contact page for details. (The Parish Council has the final decision on whether or not submitted items are published).

New Bus Shelters for Sompting!
The shelters at Inglecroft Parade and opposite Carnforth Road in Western Road were replaced on January 23. The Parish Council have chosen smart new wooden shelters which fit it with the more rural nature of the village. See the news page for more information.
