"FOUR
SEASONS" PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

The recent snow provides the perfect launch for Sompting
Parish Council’s new “Four Seasons” Photographic Competition.
Were you out with your camera? Have you captured an image that you feel
expresses the feel of the season in Sompting?
Your photographs do not need to feature snow, of course,
to be considered. What we are looking for is a photograph taken within
or of Sompting that is slightly different from your average snapshot.
Look for the unusual, a different angle - it doesn’t matter, so
long as it is Sompting.
There will be one £25 prize winner each season,
and the winning photograph will be featured in the Sompting Signpost.
We will also include some of the best of the rest.
To enter, send your prints (colour or black & white),
up to a maximum of three per person, to the Parish Clerk at 71 St Thomas’s
Road, Worthing, West Sussex, BN14 7JN by 31 March 2009. We regret that
we are unable to accept slides. No portraits of people will be accepted.
All photographs submitted will be considered by the Parish Council,
and the winner will be announced in the following edition of the Sompting
Signpost.
Members of the Parish Council, and their immediate
friends and family are not eligible to enter. Late entries will not
be accepted. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
Your name and address must be clearly stated on the reverse of each
print submitted. We regret that prints cannot be returned. The Parish
Council reserves the right to use any print submitted in any of its
publications. Due credit will be given to the photographer. The decision
of the Parish Council is final, and no correspondence can be entered
into.
So, if you haven’t already got the perfect winter
scene, now’s the time to get out and get taking your photographs.
Even if you have, keep your camera with you - you never know when you
might spot the opportunity for the winning shot! Remember, closing
date for “Winter Season” is 31 March 2009. |
